Wedding films from the team that also takes your photos
Around Charleston, most people looking for a videographer are planning a wedding. The film keeps what a photograph cannot: the vows in the words you chose, the toast that made the room laugh, the song you danced to.
Coverage is quoted for the day you are actually having, from an elopement to a full Saturday, and it ends in two finished pieces, an edited gallery and an edited film, finished to match.

Hiring the photographer and the videographer from separate companies means two briefings, two timelines and two people wanting the same spot at the end of the aisle.
Here both cameras answer to one plan: who stands where during the ceremony is settled before anyone walks in, so the film camera stays out of the photographs and the photographer stays out of the film.
The wedding photography and film page explains how a wedding day is planned around the light. Still weighing whether film is worth adding? Our side-by-side of what a photographer and a videographer each keep helps decide.
Quinceañeras, gender reveals and family celebrations
Outside weddings, film earns its place wherever something is said, sung or danced only once. Each occasion below has its own page for the photography; the table shows what the film adds.
| Occasion | What the film keeps | Plan it with |
|---|---|---|
| Quinceañeras | The entrance, the waltz, the routine the court rehearsed and the speeches, plus short vertical cuts to share that same week. | Quinceañera photography and film |
| Gender reveals | The reaction itself. The clip and the gallery come out of the same afternoon and are finished to match. | Gender reveal sessions |
| Birthdays and parties | Toasts, songs, a surprise arrival and the relatives who rarely share a room. | Party and celebration coverage |
| Another family occasion | Whatever happens once on that day. Tell us what it is and the plan starts from those moments. | Describe the day |
How a film is planned, shot and delivered
- Send the date, the place, roughly how many guests, and whether you want photography, film or both.
- We come back with a plan: a timeline built around the light, the order of the day, and the crew it needs.
- Lighting in dim halls and restaurants is agreed with the venue beforehand, never in the middle of a toast.
- On the day, portraits are directed and everything else is covered as it happens.
- The footage is edited in-house into a finished film, with short vertical cuts when they are part of the plan.

Filming a wedding or a party downtown: the permit question
The City of Charleston asks for a film and photography permit when a shoot affects the public right of way, such as streets and sidewalks, and it applies that rule mainly to commercial work.
In August 2026, as the city moved to write those guidelines into an ordinance, officials said family and wedding photos around town would not be affected (WCIV, August 19, 2026).
Parks have a rule of their own. According to the City of Charleston's Film and Photography Permits page (read on October 9, 2026), filming in a City park also needs a park permit. If the ceremony or the portraits happen in one, ask the city early: its film permit deadlines run from 10 to 15 business days.
What the price of a film depends on
There is no fixed film package, so this page carries no number. A film is quoted from the same few questions every time:
- which occasion it is, and whether it is covered for a few hours or for the whole day;
- photography, film or both, planned as one job;
- one location or several;
- what is delivered: a finished film, short vertical cuts, or both.
The full logic is on our pricing page, and the quote itself comes back once we know the date.
Filming for a business? Talk to FB Digital Agency
Video made to sell, such as brand films, ads and reels for a company's social media, is produced by FB Digital Agency, our sister company in Charleston. It plans each business video around where it will be posted and advertised; see its video production page in Charleston.
Portraits for your team stay here: headshots and branding photography are taken at the studio or on location.
Sessions from the occasions we film

Questions about hiring a videographer
Is a filmmaker a videographer?
In everyday use the two words overlap: both plan, record and edit moving pictures. What matters when you hire is what you receive. Our footage is filmed and edited in-house, and you get a finished film rather than a folder of raw clips.
How much do videographers usually charge?
It depends on the hours, the number of locations and what is delivered, which is why the studio quotes your actual day instead of listing a package. The factors are above and on the pricing page.
Can we book film without photographs?
Yes. Ask for photography, film or both, and the quote follows what you choose.
Can the planning be done in Portuguese or Spanish?
Yes. Planning and direction on the day can be in English, Portuguese or Spanish, which helps when the speeches at one party come in more than one language.
Do you film outside Charleston?
Yes. The studio is in Summerville and works across the Charleston area. For a place farther away, send the address along with your date.
